My art is my art. You cant tell someone how to do their art. I have been creating my art for over 20 years to date. A person might say “ you've been creating art for over 20 years and you have nothing to show for it? ” . My rebuttal is, if your creating art for profit only, then is it really art? Dont get me wrong . I love to profit but money doesnt define who I am as a artist or person. Money comes and goes but who you are is determined by what you chose. Once upon a time I chose product over glitter. Theres plenty of people who cant match your output so they find ways to try to derail or dim your shine. One of the most notorious lines is “ Qaulity over Quantity”. In my opinion quality is quality , product in your warehouse is seldomly bad and its easy to talk down on something that you wish that you had. In my opinion something is better then nothing and the more you do something the better you get at it. If you make decision to do something nothing will happen until you move forward. In 2005 I made the choice to pursue a career in media. During my down time I would make beats and write songs. I always had a passion for film so that came naturally as well as taking pictures. Im not always photogenic but I do have a strong eye at times for the near perfect shot. i have never had a budget for my art but ive always treated my media like a business that possibly could replace my day job. Theres a classic saying that states “ dont quit your day job ” . I never had that option anyway.lol. Through my journey I have lost alot of friends alot of time with my kids a marriage and etc. Theres another saying that states “ Trust the process”. I eventually added “ of elimination”. What works for you works for you and nobody can tell you how to do you. Being brutally honest with myself keeps me sane and Id rather train rather then complain and eventually gain as long as time remains. Lets talk about time. Time is one of the only things in life that cant be replaced. To me time is more precious then gold. I dont waste a persons time nor do I allow a person to waste mine. I feel like being direct leaves minimum room for disrespect. People will only do in your life what you allow them to do. Saying no will save you from alot of heartache and pain and clothes with less stains. Lets face it , alot of people are messy and too many people want to be king like Elvis Presley. Some people feel like Chuck Berry was the king of rock and roll. at the end of the day who is really in control. The only thing you have control of is yourself.
